About Me

Artist Statement

My art is inspired by my husband, my three daughters and my daily life.  My daughters are passionate, wild, kind, free and inherently feminine. I can't help but to capture their spirit when painting. Through painting, I would like to introduce you to their individuality, personality, beauty and - at times - anger. I hope to cover your walls in color and fire, as they cover me every day.

I am Tara Kesner, a former marketer and graphic designer who now parents three lovely daughters with my wonderful, supportive husband. He is my editing eye, biggest supporter and gave me a jump start in this career through his unwavering pride and coaching. Though I started late in life, I have found true happiness covered in paint.

I paint energetic, colorful, abstract expressionist art in acrylic and mixed media, in various sizes and formats. I am flexible and available for commissions. I am also a current board member, appointmed by the mayor, of the Leawood Arts Council for the City of Leawood, Kansas.
