Sea of Holes
I remember seeing the “Yellow Submarine” for the first time when I was in second grade. It made such an impression on me - I seeked it out again on VHS all over the city when I was in high school. Family Video for the win back in 1997. Once DVDs and internet sales emerged in college, I finally got my own copy. Ron Campbell is a huge inspiration to me. His illustrations are lush and vibrant. We have one of his originals, and I’m drawn to it every day. No movie has affected me more completely- showing what is possible without limit on imagination. “Sea of Holes,” is a 30”x48” acrylic on canvas painting, plucked from an imagination shaped by those wonderful illustrators.
