My last large format work “Sunset,” had a base of highly textural pumice, which is a form of volcanic rock. It soaks up paint like a sponge, creating a soft and interesting surface. While using traditional paint, it spread smoothly through the surface reminding me of an airbrush effect. I decided to try out the pumice texture with sprayed acrylic paint, and am in love with the result!
You know me! There’s nothing I like more than playing with knives. 🤣
“Sunset Mini I & II” are acrylic and pumice mixed media pieces on cradled board. The sides are painted to match the surface. The individual pieces are 9”x12”. Price is for each.
